Review: Messenger

Messenger Messenger by Lois Lowry
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Was expecting more. It's an okay read. Definitely not as good as Giver.

Review: The Girl with All the Gifts

The Girl with All the Gifts The Girl with All the Gifts by M.R. Carey
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

The best thing about this book has to be the ending (for me). Dystopian or utopian- the contrast is that huge.

Review: Lord of the Flies

Lord of the Flies Lord of the Flies by William Golding
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A tale of young boys stuck on an island. Nothing special in that, unless...

The author gives us a view into how normal kids (not Hardy boys or Secret Seven) behave without adult supervision. Or for that matter even how adults might react in a dystopian world without any order. It's scary and it feels true.

Review: American Gods

American Gods American Gods by Neil Gaiman
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Interesting concept about the Gods/Demons/Tales that we carry around the world with us.
The twists are mind blowing, the Gods terrifyingly human, and a protagonist to fall for.

Review: 2001: A Space Odyssey

2001: A Space Odyssey 2001: A Space Odyssey by Arthur C. Clarke
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Oh wow! Read science fiction after a long time. And what an awesome choice (though not mine, received as a gift). Love how it begins with the early man and then takes you on an unforgettable journey through space. I especially liked the conflicts faced by the AI (HAL 9000). Although, I cannot quite believe Dave won over it. I was kind of rooting for HAL.

Love Neil Gaiman's storytelling. Big Fan.
About the myths, Norse Mythologies are weird.
