Review: Men and Dreams: In the Dhauladhar

Men and Dreams: In the Dhauladhar Men and Dreams: In the Dhauladhar by Kochery C. Shibu
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Thanks for asking to review.
The book turned out unexpectedly good. The storyline is almost smooth, the past and present well handled. There were so many characters, each with their own stories, it seemed like the making of a series. The climax is too rushed.
I recommend giving the book a try.

Review: The Carnivorous Carnival

The Carnivorous Carnival The Carnivorous Carnival by Lemony Snicket
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Starting a series at book #9 is not what I usually do. But I did and here we are.
The book is not as gory as the author proclaims. The style of writing is fantastic, the characters memorable, a little too smart, and the novel a page turner. I hope to someday buy all the books in the series and binge-read them.

Review: The Slippery Slope

The Slippery Slope The Slippery Slope by Lemony Snicket
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Bought just the two books at the Hyderabad book fair and am I glad!
They are interesting but I am going to take the author's suggestion of not continuing reading them (because I don't have the rest, otherwise there's no stopping me :).
The characters are so intriguing that you wish to read the whole thing, however, my instinct says the author will not complete the story and I am going to go with it.
I did love the style of storytelling.

New Year's Eve

If you're anything like me you think it is possible to complete all your resolutions for the year in one day.

It's 31st December 2016 today and instead of plans for the new year tomorrow, all I really wish to do is get a hold of all the goals and aspirations for this year. It's not that I didn't complete any of them (I didn't).
However, my consolation lies in the fact that I made many impromptu goals and achieved them, too. Like learning to swim (finally) or developing a website (hurray for me!). I did squeeze in a month of aerobics, too.
Moreover, I have blogged more often than before. I also reviewed almost all the books I read this year. I got a book signed by one of my favourite authors. I'm happier in my relationships.
Phew! There are going to be no resolutions for 2017. I am on  3-6 months Dreamline now. Shorter durations tend to actually get things done.
I am going to go cycling now (cycle every day: ✓ :).

Books are love.

One among the many reasons why books are better than Kindle is that you can get your paperback/hardcover signed.

Oh did I mention I got Lord Jeffery Archer's signature on the latest Clifton chronicles? *Ecstatic*
